Cane Unloading
Grab
Hydraulic cane grabs engineered specifically for Indian sugar mill truck and trailer geometry. 4 to 6 tine configurations, 3–5 MT bundle capacity, fully hydraulic actuation matched to bridge unloaders and EOT cranes.
Grabs built for
Indian sugar mill
truck geometry.
The Fluidline cane unloading grab is a hydraulically actuated tine grab designed for the single purpose of picking cane bundles from truck beds and trailers at Indian sugar mills. Unlike general-purpose grabs adapted for cane handling, the Fluidline unit is designed from the outset for cane: the opening width, tine count, tine spacing and closing geometry are all determined by the dimensions of the trucks and trailers that bring cane to the mill.
Each grab handles bundles of 3 MT to 5 MT. The tines — 4 or 6 per grab — are fabricated from high-tensile steel plate and heat-treated at the tip for wear resistance against the abrasive soil and stones that come in with harvested cane. The hydraulic cylinder is a Fluidline-manufactured unit with chrome-plated rod and low-friction seals, rated for continuous-duty cycling through the length of the crushing season.
The grab is designed as part of a complete system. When specified with a Fluidline bridge unloader, the hydraulic supply, pressure and flow are matched at the design stage so that the grab opens and closes at the rate required by the unloading cycle, without overloading the power pack or creating back-pressure spikes that damage seals. The grab can also be retrofitted to existing cranes provided the hydraulic supply and rated capacity are confirmed.

Truck-geometry Sizing
Opening width and tine spread are set against the actual truck dimensions at the customer's mill — not a generic standard — ensuring reliable bundle capture on every cycle.
Heat-treated Tines
Tine tips are heat-treated to resist abrasive wear from soil, stones and fibrous cane. Long tine life means fewer shutdowns for replacement during the crushing season.
In-house Hydraulic Cylinder
The actuation cylinder is manufactured by Fluidline — same process, same quality standards as all our cylinders. Chrome rod, honed bore, continuous-duty seals.
System Integration
Hydraulic flow, pressure and cycle timing are matched to the bridge unloader or EOT crane at the design stage. The grab and the crane are a system, not separate purchases.
Grab
configurations.
4-tine Cane Grab
Standard configuration for trucks up to approximately 2,600 mm body width. Four evenly spaced tines close around the cane bundle. Suited to the majority of Indian sugar mill truck fleets.
6-tine Cane Grab
For wider trailer configurations or where bundles are loosely tied and need more tine contact points for secure capture. Increased tine count distributes the cane load more evenly across the grab.
Grab with Swivel Head
360° swivel head fitted above the grab body for EOT crane and bridge unloader fitment. Swivel eliminates rope twist and allows the operator to align the grab over the truck without rotating the crane hook.

Why specify
Fluidline.
Sugar Mill Expertise
Sugar mill cane unloading is one of our core application areas. We understand the truck fleets, the cycle rates, the crushing season pressures and the maintenance realities of a busy mill yard.
Matched System Design
We design the grab and the crane together. Hydraulic system, structural capacity and duty rating are aligned — the complete system is tested before it reaches your yard.
Season-ready Support
Tines, cylinders and seals are stocked at Kundli. When a crushing season starts, downtime is not acceptable — we have the spares and the field team to keep your grab running.
