our DNA.

The Fluidline CNC turning facility exists because the hydraulic equipment we design and build demands it. Hydraulic cylinder piston rods, gear coupling hubs, brakedrum assemblies, crane shaft components — every precision turned component in our products is machined on our own floor, by our own operators, to our own quality standards.

That in-house machining capability is available to external customers as a contract service. You get access to industrial-grade CNC turning centres, experienced operators, a calibrated inspection department and the quality management systems of an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer — without the capital investment of your own machining facility.

We work from customer drawings, CAD files or reverse-engineered samples. We supply material or machine from customer-provided blanks. We produce single prototypes and repeat production batches. And because we use the same process internally, we take dimensional accuracy and documentation seriously — not as a box to tick, but as how we actually work.

Reverse Engineering

We accept single-piece prototype orders. We are not a volume-only job shop. Our facility exists to produce precision components for our own equipment, and that mindset carries into every external machining contract we take on.

Common
questions.

What is the smallest batch size you accept for CNC turning?
We accept batch sizes from a single prototype piece upward. Single-piece and small-batch work (1–20 pieces) is a significant part of what we do — in fact our facility exists primarily to support our own equipment manufacturing, so we are set up for low-volume, high-complexity work. There is no minimum order quantity for CNC turning enquiries. Tooling and setup costs are included in our quotation.
What tolerances can your CNC turning centres hold?
Our standard CNC turning tolerance is ±0.05 mm for general components. For precision applications — hydraulic cylinder bores, piston rods, bearing seats and shaft journals — we routinely hold ±0.02 mm on diameter and ±0.05 mm on length. Surface finish to Ra 1.6 µm or better is achievable on turned surfaces. For tighter tolerances or very fine finishes, we recommend discussing requirements before quoting.
Do you supply material, or do customers provide raw material?
We can supply material or machine from customer-supplied blanks — your choice. We source carbon steel (IS 2062, EN 8, EN 24), stainless steel (304, 316), aluminium alloys, brass, cast iron and alloy steels. Material mill test certificates are available for all material we supply. If you supply material, please provide the material specification and certificate with the delivery.
What is the typical lead time for prototype and production machining?
Prototype lead time is typically 5–10 working days from drawing approval for most components. Production batches of 50–500 pieces typically take 2–4 weeks depending on component complexity and material availability. We can discuss expedited lead times for urgent requirements — call our facility directly. Lead times are confirmed at the time of quotation once we have reviewed the drawings.
What inspection and certification do you provide with machined components?
Every batch is dimensionally inspected using calibrated measuring instruments — vernier callipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges and surface roughness testers. We provide a dimensional inspection report for each batch as standard. Material test certificates are included where we supply material. For critical components, first-article inspection reports with full dimensional layout are available on request.
Can you machine components from customer drawings or CAD files?
Yes. We work from 2D drawings (PDF, DXF, DWG) and 3D CAD files (STEP, IGES, SolidWorks). If you have a worn component without a drawing, we can reverse-engineer by measuring the sample and creating a workshop drawing for your approval before machining. Our in-house design team can also assist with design modifications where manufacturing constraints require them.
