Get the spec right
and it runs for
decades.

An EOT crane is one of the most consequential pieces of equipment in any industrial shed. Get the specification right and it will run reliably for decades. Get it wrong and it becomes a constant source of downtime, maintenance cost and safety risk.

Our engineering team specifies and builds EOT cranes to the working duty class your plant operates at, not to a generic catalogue benchmark. That means we ask about your lift frequency, your load distribution, your headroom constraints, your operating environment and your maintenance capability before we issue a drawing — not after.

Every crane is load tested to 125% of rated capacity before dispatch, certified to IS 3177 and IS 807, and dispatched with a complete documentation package. We also provide installation supervision, load testing at site and operator training as part of our commissioning service.

Technical questions
answered for
EOT cranes.

What is the difference between a single girder and double girder EOT crane?

A single girder crane uses one main bridge beam with the hoist running on the lower flange — more economical for lighter capacities up to 20 MT and lower duty cycles. A double girder crane uses two parallel beams with the hoist crab running on top, enabling capacities to 40 MT, greater spans, lower hook approach, and walkway options. For heavy duty and high-cycle operations, double girder is generally the right choice.

How do I choose the right duty class for my EOT crane?

Duty class under IS 3177 is determined by lift frequency, the percentage of lifts at or near full capacity, and total annual operating hours. A foundry crane making frequent full-load lifts requires Class IV. A warehouse crane making occasional light lifts may be Class II. Our engineering team will review your operating parameters and specify the correct class — underestimating duty class is one of the most common and costly errors in crane specification.

What is the maximum span you can build for an EOT crane?

We build EOT cranes with spans up to 30 metres. Beyond standard spans we carry out structural deflection analysis to ensure the bridge meets IS 3177 limits under full load. For very large spans, double girder box construction is used to achieve the required stiffness-to-weight ratio.

Do you provide load testing certification for EOT cranes?

Yes. Every crane is load tested to 125% of rated safe working load before dispatch, in accordance with IS 3177 and IS 807. We issue a test certificate documenting load test results, electrical testing, brake testing and dimensional inspection — required for factory acceptance and statutory compliance in most states.

Can you manufacture EOT cranes for explosion-proof or hazardous area environments?

Yes. We manufacture cranes with flame-proof (FLP) electrical equipment for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas as defined under IEC 60079. This includes FLP motors, control panels, pendants and limit switches. Applications include chemical plants, paint shops and solvent handling facilities.

What information do you need to design and quote an EOT crane?

To produce a general arrangement drawing and quote, we need: span between crane rails, available headroom (underside of roof to top of rail), building column spacing, safe working load, required height of lift, and duty cycle. If the runway is being built alongside the crane, we provide wheel loads and rail specifications for the civil and structural design team.
